Culture
When it comes to culture you couldn't find a destination with more diversity per square mile than Cyprus. It may only be the third largest island in the Mediterranean, but it certainly backs a cultural punch. With a history which is swamped in both mythical and factual conflict it's so beautiful even the Gods fought to protect it. Roam the lush green inlands here and you'll find a landscape speckled with relics and ruins from conquerors spanning Roman, Byzantinian, Ottoman, Venetian and Lusignan heritage. You may even stumble across the odd Neolithic gaff. Nowadays, however the country remains divided by the Green Line which separates the southern two-thirds which are under Greek influence and the, Turkish controlled, northern third.
Climate
One of the great things about Cyprus is it enjoys a Mediterranean climate offering a host of warm sunny beaches throughout the year, making it a hotspot for tourism. However, where the coasts promise balmy temperatures for sun-soaked family breaks, the island also features the Troodos Mountain Range which spines the centre of the country.
