Culture

Egyptians form a multicultural society where modernity and western customs flirt with traditions without consuming each other. Ancient history and current cultural trends mingle alongside modern holidaymaking pursuits, forming one of the world's most appealing destinations.

Cuisine

Varied flavours make Egyptian cuisine a blend of disparate influences, incorporating sophisticated flavours from Turkey, Lebanon and other Near-Eastern cuisines. Egypt is home to many outstanding restaurants, and local specialities frequently incorporate delicious fresh fish from the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

Diving

Fine sand, exotic fish, and calm, translucent waters create unmatched diving environments. The Red Sea holds many surprises for divers of every ability. Year-round professional diving clubs take avid sea-lovers on excursions to view parrot fish, angel fish, clown fish, groupers, sharks, dolphins and barracudas. Coral reefs, sandy depths and shipwrecks add additional textures to the underwater landscapes of Egypt.

Climate

Egypt has four types of climate: Mediterranean on the Alexandria coast, semi-desert in the Cairo region, temperate along the Nile Valley and desert in the south of the country. September - November brings gentle heat between 25°C - 35°C, and after April temperatures turn quite warm quite quickly. The latter is the season of the desert winds, known as Khamasin.
