A bit about Rivière Noire District
Holding the lion's share of the west coast of Mauritius, Rivière Noire is the most diverse district on the island, home not only to beautiful beachfronts, but also the bustling social hub of Flic-en-Flac and the basalt rock outcrop known as Le Morne, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Excellent coastal resorts can be found on the seafront, but venture inland and you'll find the world-famous Black River Gorges National Park, the last bastion for many of Mauritius's native species of kestrel, monkey and deer.
