Culture
An ancient land of nomadic traders with enthralling traditions, explore the maze-like medina and atmospheric streets for a taste of Moroccan culture with the melodic sounds of the call to prayer in the air - but remember to leave your shoes at the door. The minarets of Morocco symbolise beacons in the Arabic community that illustrate the strength and influence of the nation. The important landmark of Kutubiyya Mosque is notably the tallest structure in Marrakech and decorated with geometric patterns and topped with a towering spire and metal orbs.
Cuisine
Step foot into Morocco and there is no doubt you will be offered a refreshingly minty glass of Moroccan tea. A dish you will find in most places is Tajine, which can include lamb or mutton with prunes and almonds, or chicken with olives and lemon. Kebabs such as brochettes or kefta are also commonplace along with fish and of course couscous.
Climate
With mild winters and scorching summer temperatures, Morocco is the perfect place to jet off for some much-needed sun. Inland areas such as Marrakech have sun-filled days year-round, with summer temperatures easily reaching the late 30's and some hotter days exceeding 45°C.
Things to do
Wander through the enchanting gardens or snap a few photos of the impressive architecture. Or how about visiting the medina of Marrakech to try your hand at haggling and explore the kaleidoscopic array of items to purchase, where you can rummage through tapestries and artisan trinkets. Teeming with colour and intricate design, the style and culture of Morocco is very recognisable. Whereas for dedicated walkers, the High Atlas is one of the most incredible mountain ranges in the world, whilst the Djemaa el Fna Street Theatre will satisfy culture seekers.
