Itinerary

Day 1 – Negombo

Touch down in Sri Lanka and start the wheels in motion on your ultimate adventure. Get settled in with an overnight stay in Negombo before beginning your essential tour of Sri Lanka.

Day 2 – Dambulla

First stop is discovering the famous fishing village of Negombo. This quaint community is completely at one with the water. Take a journey down the Dutch Canal, thick with fisherman aiming to display their spoils on the market stalls. If you time your trip between November and April you might also be able to head out to sea on a catamaran for a thrilling diving adventure.

When you’ve had your fill of Negombo it’s time to depart for your resort, the enchanting Amaya Lake, Dambulla awaits. Here you’ll be able to settle down for a delicious meal and cosy up in your Superior Villa in the evening.

Day 3 – Sigiriya

It’s up and at ‘em on day two as you make your way to stunning Sigiriya. Explore the mesmeric “Fortress In The Sky”, also known as Lion Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage site dripping in historical relevance. Take in the ancient Royal Palace as well as 21 frescoes of damsels painted on the walls of the palace steps. These venerable artworks are the only surviving examples of Sinhala secular paintings. So, you’ll be clapping eyes on something most people will never get the chance to see.

Day 4 - Dambulla & Matale

Rock Temple

On day three you’ll make your way to Kandy. While enroute to the capital of the Central Province you’ll stop off at the famous Rock Temple. Dating back to the first century B.C. the Rock Temple is loaded with revered statues paintings and ornaments.

Matale Spice Garden

After you’ve taken in the ancient grandeur of the subterranean temple it’s on to the Matale Spice Garden. Matale lies in a vast fertile valley which has become a haven for spice cultivation. Take a tour around of the plantations where products like vanilla, jackfruit, cocoa and cardamom. While rubber and cinchona, a shrub harvested for it’s bark which aids digestion, are also prevalent.

Kandy City Tour

Upon arrival in Kandy step out and embrace the majesty of the city. Explore the vibrant markets and wander around the region’s centrepiece Bogambara Lake (also known as Kandy Lake). In addition to the lake and market you should also make time to check out the fire walkers who perform as part of the cultural dance.

Day 5 - Colombo

Head out on an adventure around a city like no other. In Colombo you can marvel at Hindu temples and visit the old bazaar in search of a bargain souvenir. Conversely, though, you could also head into the centre and take in the goldsmiths and skyscrapers which have come with the city’s modernity.

Day 13 - Return Home

Your Sri Lankan tour has come to an end, so your transfer will take you back to Bandaranaike International Airport to begin your return journey.
