About
Your Kenyan adventure begins on the shores of the Indian Ocean with your first night at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa. Set in tropical gardens on Shanzu Beach, it's an easy-going introduction to Mombasa, with a lagoon-style pool, spa and oceanfront dining all waiting when you arrive.
Then it's time for safari. You'll be collected early from your hotel and travel by road in a 4x4 towards Tsavo East National Park. Entering through Bachuma Gate, your first game drive takes you across vast plains and woodland in search of some of Kenya's most impressive wildlife. Tsavo East is particularly famous for its elephants, while lions, cheetahs, buffalo and hippos are among the animals you could encounter.
After lunch at Aruba Lodge and another afternoon game drive, continue towards Taita Hills for dinner and your first night in the bush at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa.
Day 2 starts early with another game drive before breakfast. Then you'll continue to one of the real highlights of the trip – Salt Lick Safari Lodge. Raised on stilts above a waterhole in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, the lodge gives you a front-row seat as wildlife comes to drink below.
There's more wildlife watching throughout the day before an evening night game drive gives you the chance to experience the sanctuary after dark and search for nocturnal animals.
Your final morning begins with one last early game drive. On a clear day, you may even catch sight of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. After breakfast, travel back towards Mombasa and return to PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa.
And that's where the pace changes completely. With 7 nights still ahead of you, you've got time to settle back into beach life, relax beside the lagoon-style pool, book a spa treatment or simply find your favourite spot overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Your first safari night is spent at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa on a Full Board basis. Surrounded by the landscapes of Taita Hills, the lodge provides your base after an action-packed first day exploring Tsavo East. Dinner and breakfast are included, ready for another early start and morning game drive the following day.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge
Night 3
This is the safari stay you'll be talking about when you get home.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is built on stilts overlooking a waterhole in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, giving you the opportunity to watch wildlife from a completely different perspective.
You'll spend the afternoon exploring the sanctuary before heading out again after dark for an hour-long night game drive.
Your overnight stay is on a Full Board basis.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Mombasa & PrideInn Flamingo
Arrive in Kenya and transfer to PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa on Shanzu Beach.
Settle into your beachfront surroundings and enjoy your first evening by the Indian Ocean before the safari adventure begins.
Day 2 – Tsavo East National Park
It's an early start as you're collected from PrideInn Flamingo and begin your road safari by 4x4.
Travel along the Mombasa–Nairobi Road towards Tsavo East National Park, entering through Bachuma Gate.
Then the wildlife watching begins. Tsavo East is renowned for its large elephant population – including its famous red-dusted elephants – while your game drive also brings opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs, buffalo, hippos and other wildlife.
The landscape is part of the experience too, with vast plains, woodland, views towards the Taita Hills and the impressive Yatta Plateau.
Stop for lunch at Aruba Lodge before continuing on an afternoon game drive towards Taita Hills.
Overnight
Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa – Full Board. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 – Taita Hills & Salt Lick Safari Lodge
Leave the lodge at around 6:30am for an early morning game drive through Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary before returning for breakfast.
You'll then continue to Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
Built on stilts overlooking a waterhole, this extraordinary lodge puts you right in the heart of the wildlife action. The sanctuary is home to species including lions, elephants, giraffes and zebra.
Head out on another game drive and spend the afternoon experiencing the sanctuary.
After sunset, the adventure continues.
At around 7pm, set off on an hour-long night game drive. With darkness transforming the bush, this is your opportunity to look for nocturnal wildlife and experience the sights and sounds of the African wilderness after dark.

Salt Lick Safari Lodge – Full Board.
Day 4 – Sunrise Safari & Return to Mombasa
It's another early start, leaving at around 6:30am for your final game drive through the sanctuary.
Keep your eyes on the horizon too – on a clear morning, there's the possibility of seeing snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Return for breakfast before beginning the journey back to Mombasa.
You'll arrive back at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa in the early afternoon, where the rest of the day is yours to relax.
Days 4–10 – Back to the Beach
Now you've earned some serious downtime.
Settle back into PrideInn Flamingo for the remaining 7 nights of your holiday, with the Indian Ocean, Shanzu Beach and lagoon-style pool all waiting.
Spend your days exactly as you please – relax on the beach, make time for Uzuri Village Spa, arrange water sports or excursions, or simply grab a drink and enjoy the coastal views.

Safari Information
The safari operates by road in a shared 4x4 vehicle with a pop-up roof and a maximum of 7 passengers. An English-speaking driver-guide accompanies the safari, and a window seat is guaranteed. The safari requires a minimum of 2 guests to operate.
Departure is normally early in the morning from the Mombasa coast. Safari departure days are currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, although the operating day can change locally.
Safari Luggage
Due to limited space inside safari vehicles, hard suitcases aren't suitable for the safari portion of your holiday. Please pack what you need for the 2-night safari into a soft-sided bag weighing no more than 15kg and measuring no more than approximately 65 x 46cm.
