Day 1 – Arrival in Zanzibar & Stone Town Stay

• Arrive in Zanzibar and transfer to Shaba Boutique Hotel (or similar) in Stone Town.
• The afternoon and evening are yours to explore Stone Town as you wish.
• We recommend exploring Stone Town’s UNESCO-listed streets, visiting the Old Fort, House of Wonders, and the lively Darajani Market.*
• If you're a Queen fan, visit the birthplace of Freddy Mercury, where he lived & memorial Museum.*
• Enjoy a sunset spice tour or relax with a rooftop dinner overlooking the ocean.*

Day 2 – Fly to Saadani National Park & Begin Safari

• Morning: Enjoy breakfast in Stone Town before preparing for your next adventure.
• Due to the aircraft’s limited luggage capacity, guests are permitted a maximum of 15kg per person for this leg of the journey. For convenience, any additional luggage can be safely stored with Escapade Zanzibar. Their trusted driver will collect and secure your belongings before your safari and ensure they are returned to you promptly upon your return.
• Afternoon: Catch a scenic flight by small plane to mainland Tanzania, bound for Saadani National Park.
• Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a ranger and driven to Saadani Safari Lodge, located on the park’s southern border where the bush meets the beach.
• Without delay, head straight out on your first game drive with sundowner — your introduction to this unique coastal wilderness where lions, elephants, and giraffes may be spotted with the Indian Ocean as their backdrop.
• After the safari, return to the lodge and check into your Classic Banda, where you can relax and enjoy dinner by the ocean.

Day 3 Dawn Game Drive & River Safari

• Early morning: 5am wake up by our team (with coffee or hot chocolate in the room) to go on early morning bush game drive
• Head out on safari in an open vehicle to explore the unique landscapes of Saadani National Park — the only wildlife reserve in East Africa bordering the Indian Ocean.
• Keep watch for Saadani’s version of the Big Four: elephants, lions, buffalo, and leopards, often spotted against a backdrop of palm-lined beaches.
• Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
• After breakfast: Relax at the lodge or opt for a river safari along the Wami River (tide-dependent), where crocodiles, hippos, and birdlife thrive.
• Afternoon: After lunch, there’s the option to head out on a guided bicycle safari along the beach to spot wildlife venturing down to the coast or enjoy free time to unwind at the infinity pool, before heading back to mainland Zanzibar.

Day 4 Dawn Game Drive, River Safari & Return To Zanzibar

• Early Morning: It's another early start with a second chance to spot wildlife on an early morning game drive or river safari, before heading back to the resort for a hearty breakfast.
• After breakfast venture out on a river safari or enjoy some leisure time at the lodge.
• Afternoon: Lunch at the lodge, then the time is yours to enjoy - relax at the pool or head out on a short bicycle ride along the beach.
• Later in the day: Just a short plane journey back, until you are met by the Escapeade Zanzibar driver, who will return your luggage and transfer you to Maharaja Boutique Hotel
