It wouldn't be paradisiacal location in Mauritius if we didn't talk about beaches, right? Well Trou-aux-Biches benefits from access to some stunning stretches of sand. Trou-aux-Biches beach is the main spot where water sports, diving and snorkelling can all be found - that is if you can move off the warm white sand, of course. Meanwhile, a quick sojourn into nearby Mont Choisy will bring you to the other fabulous area of coastline, Mont Choisy beach.
Submarine fun
While we're on the subject of spectacular stretches of coastline... Trou-aux-Biches is a world-class location for underwater adventures. Here you can dip below the Indian Ocean waves and marvel at bustling reefs or swim alongside elegant sea turtles. The waters around Trou-aux-Biches Beach are also perfect for beginners and families. The shallow, calm water and easily swimmable reef is perfect for introducing kids to the watery world and, who knows, it may even spark a career in marine biology.
Get into Grand Baie
Just under 9km from Trou-aux-Biches lies the vibrant town of Grand Baie. This hub of tourism in the north of Mauritius is a popular spot for a reason. Here you can get out and explore everything from markets to museums and restaurants to dive centres.
