Room Types

• All guestrooms are at ground-level and open privately on the magnificent palm-grove and the Indian Ocean.
• Each is equipped with its own air-conditioning fan unit and comprises twin beds or a double bed with a built-in drawer; a redesigned bathroom with separate bath and shower, toilet and 110/220-volt socket for electric razor; a mini-bar; a safe; a hair-dryer; a television set with satellite channels, a cartoon channel for kids and a teletext information system; a telephone with international direct dialing (IDD); equipment for making tea and coffee; and a furnished private terrace.
• The Superior guestrooms are situated closer to the sea. Room service operates 24 hours a day.

RESTAURANTS

Thatches (seats 450)

• Spacious and tropical, the main restaurant, on the terrace, is open daily from 7.30a.m to 10.30a.m. for breakfast. The complete breakfast buffet comprises traditional English breakfast and added Creole, Mauritian and Indian signature items, for a great start to the day.
• Dinnertime, from 7.30p.m to 10p.m, showcases demonstrative World Cuisine for a totally new and exciting dining experience.
• The new buffet features several themed live-cooking stations with food prepared fresh in front of the guests: a Chinese freshnoodle and stir-fry station; a curry station with traditional Mauritian ‘case-créole’ cuisine, a tandoor (Indian clay oven) and colourful Indian dishes; a huge salad station; a pasta station; a pizza station with its wood-fired oven; a grill-and-tepanyaki station; a chilled-dessert counter with a daily hot dessert prepared live; and even a Kids’ Ice-Cream Bar.
• For the more romantic, the restaurant also features cosy thatched dining pavilion around a striking decorative and reflective pond.

Paul & Virginie (seats 120)

• By the beach, with romantic thatched dining pavilions overhanging the ‘infinity’ pool against the dramatic backdrop of Le Morne mountain across the sea, the rustic charm of the à-la carte Paul & Virginie restaurant favours warmth and intimacy.
• At lunchtime, from 12.30p.m to 2.30p.m daily, it proposes a selection of popular island cuisine, wood-fired pizzas, grilled, smoked or steamed fish, tossed salads and sandwiches.
• Its dinner offering, from 7.30p.m to 10p.m, Monday to Saturday, is more sophisticated, with a focus on seafood and healthy stir-fries, and features select items like scallops, oysters, mussels, giant prawns and lobster, around the restaurant’s signature multi-choice concept (smoked to order, grilled or steamed).
• The wine list includes a variety of South African and New World wines, with a focus on great value for money.

La Badiane (seats 40)

• Adjacent to the main restaurant, the alfresco ‘La Badiane’ is enriched by a spice garden whose scent and sweet perfume is a complete invigorating experience for the guests.
• La Badiane offers a new Mauritian dining experience with its ‘creole fusion’ cuisine from 7.30p.m to 10p.m every day except Sunday.

Citronella’s Café (seats 120)

• Facing the sea, between La Pirogue and Sugar Beach, guests can savour the delights of the Mediterranean’s sunny cuisines – from tasty light snacks to the best Italian restaurants’ traditional dishes – in the cordial warmth of Citronella’s handsome dining room or in the shade of the café’s teak terrace.
• Citronella’s Café is open for lunch from 12.30p.m to 3p.m every day except Monday, and for dinner from 7.30p.m to 11p.m every day except Sunday.

Tides (seats 100)

• Located at the beach front, this restaurant offers a world seafood cuisine for lunch and dinner. Guests can compose their own platter from the elaborate and spectacular centerpiece counter from fresh shellfish, mussels, oysters and a variety of handmade Sushi and Sashimi.
• At lunch, Tides also prepares light poolside meals that can be ordered with refreshments from its bar. And for those wanting to enjoy a meal or drink in the privacy of their own thatched umbrellas along the beach, the Beach Trolley will come their way.
• Tides is open for lunch from 12:30p.m to 3p.m and for dinner from 7p.m to 10p.m.

Dress Code.

• Long trousers are de rigueur for men in the evening.

Bars

Blue Bar (seats 90)

• The bar offers a wide choice of contemporary tropical cocktails and rums and an important selection of beverages, liqueurs, beers and spirits of international brands, as well as delicious espressos from 10a.m to 2a.m daily.

The Coco Kiosk Bar (seats 50)

• The ‘Coco Kiosk’ bar is adjacent to the pool and offers a wide variety of coladas (Pinacolada, Litchicolada, Mangocolada….) served in fresh coconuts with different style presentation as well as health line cocktails and tropical fruits.

Beach Bar (seats 75)

• Overlooking the Indian Ocean, near the nautical club, the bar opens at 10a.m daily and closes at midnight every day.
• In a relaxed atmosphere with a spectacular sea-view, it offers a great ‘drink-your-vitamins’ menu of fresh fruit juices, vegetable juices, milk-shakes and other beverages as well as a superb selection of espressos.
• Food consists of light snacks: Mauritian snacks, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and exotic ice-cream at lunchtime as well as pastries and pancakes for five o’clock tea. A beach golf-cart provides refreshments from 10a.m to 5.30p.m and a pizza bike delivers pizzas on order to guests’ thatched parasols from 12.30p.m to 5.30p.m.

FOR CHILDREN

Sun Kids Club

• For children aged 2 to 11 years. Open 12 hours a day, purpose-planned and equipped to cater for the specific needs of children on holiday, the Sun Kids Club offers numerous age-appropriate fun activities, as well as special menus, buffets and barbecues specifically prepared for the kids under the watchful eye of specially-trained hostesses.
• Activities include mini-golf, tennis, windsurfing, swimming, pony-riding and excursions. The services of a babysitter (for which there is an extra charge) are required for 2 and 3-year-olds.

Teens Club

• The ideal meeting-place for guests aged 12 to 17, the Teens Club organises and runs sports activities, outings, excursions and special evenings for teenagers.
